From Hiroshima to Hope.

Lantern floating ceremonies (Toro Nagashi) are held Aug. 6 to remember the anniversary of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. The intent is to honor those lost and announce a message encouraging peace.

The original ceremony was used to honor the dead of the past year, and the lanterns would guide their spirits to the afterlife.

Now we endeavor to ensure that such atrocities as Hiroshima and Nagasaki never occur again.
